Our First Wedding Anniversary!

by kimmi on Nov.04, 2009, under Family Fun

Well we have celebrated our first wedding anniversary, and it was WONDERFUL! I feel very fortunate to have met and married such a wonderful, loving, caring man. We had a great weekend, we had a blast on Saturday night (Halloween), Zed dressed up as a scarecrow, and sat on the front porch with the pumpkin and the lil trick or treaters LOVED him! It was so cute. He did manage to scare a few kids, but he was very kind to the lil itty bitty ones! We had lots of kids too, probably 30 or more. Then Sunday we had a wonderful morning got some lovely cards from our family (in the US and AU) and some lovely messages from friends and family. Mom came and picked nana up for the day so we could have some time to ourselves. We went to dinner at mom & dads at 4pm and were welcomed by the most lovely surprise! They had turned their house into “Chez Flaussies” for the evening. There was a adorable little table set for two in the living room, the fireplace was lit (well the little log that holds about 12 tea lights was lit, its still WAY to warm here for a real fire, but it was a nice touch), good dishes, wine glasses, and we were served by the “Chez Flaussies” staff. Nana was the Matre D (I am sure my wonderful husband will correct that if I spelled it wrong LOL), mom was the waitress, and of course my dad was Chef Bob! We had home-made french onion soup with the bread and delicious cheese, steak, baked potatoes with sour cream and fresh chives from “Chez Flaussies” herb garden, Black Berry merlot wine, and some lovely starters to the meal, relish tray, some smoked meats. We had such a good time, and so much love and thought went into it, and it meant even more because I know how much love Zed and I put into things and to see our family go to the effort to make our evening a memorable one, was just amazing. I will have Zed post some photos later so everyone can see, it was truly magical, and our anniversary was amazing.

Another Fun Weekend

by Zed on Jun.01, 2009, under Family Fun, News, Pictures

flyzapperWe all went to play mini golf this Saturday just passed and had a wonderful time. The place is called Congo River Mini Golfand is such a beautiful place and very pretty. It was a very very hot day and after golf we all headed off to Steak ‘N Shakefor burgers and milkshakes, they do make very nice burgers and milkshakes (thick ones too). We played some moonlight bowling on the wii and stayed the night at Pam & Bobby’s. Sunday was just as hot so we lazed about the pool and swam to cool off until dinner was ready. Bobby did a terrific job as usual, he is getting to be a better cook all the time and really does enjoy it too. You can taste the love he puts into his food! We had BBQ ribs, BBQ quail, BBQ chicken wings, beans and  fresh corn. Of cause I got to play with the electronic fly zapper tennis racket, it takes 2 x AA batteries and produces 15,000 Volts of bug zapping power, oh and by the way, It hurts like hell if you ACCIDENTALLY touch it. My younger brother Evan had one confiscated by customs coming into Australia.
